It is usually a sentence whose first letters correspond to a particular word of a sequence you need to memorize. Even if you didn't get the definition, the following will clear it out for you:

- Citric acid, Cis aconitic acid, Isocitric acid, Oxalo-succinic acid,alpha Ketoglutaric acid, Succinyl-Co A, Succinic acid, Fumaric acid, Mallic acid and Oxalic acid.
As you can see, the first sentence is much easier to remember and so if you remember that, you can memorize the sequence of intermediate products in Kreb's Cycle/Citric Acid Cycle.
